School board says it’s cooperating with DeKalb DA | ajc.com
I truly believe that this school system will go on probation from SACS and may at some point have its accreditation revoked. If it can happen in Clayton, it can happen in DeKalb. Crappy SAT scores, scores of teachers accused of various crimes, and the board seems to be a group that doesn’t care about students nearly as much as they care about keeping their positions. In great school districts, the incompetence and lack of leadership from the school board is masked by the performance of the students, which can be traced to the parents. In a system like DeKalb, where scores are less than average, the board is seen as much more of a problem than a solution. So I say to the board, you need to do everything you can to make the board look competent. Not only should you cooperate, but you should be jumping at the bit to hand the D.A. anything she asks of you, without hesitation.
